Rehabilitation is crucial to the loss management product line. Company Care provides an aggressive approach to care, ensuring the injured worker a fast track to physical function and return to work.

The rehabilitation service provides proactive programs for enhancing and screening employee function as well as the treatment of work related injuries. Integrated with the health surveillance product line for pre hire screenings, this service identifies the functional abilities of the employee to perform the essential tasks of the job.

Rehabilitation Services provided by Company Care include:

Physical Modalities

Items such as hot packs, cold packs, and ultrasound.

Chiropractic Manipulation

Reduces subluxation, increase range of motion, reduced nerve irritability and improved function. Company Care has a chiropractor that can provide care to your employees both on and off site.

Massage Therapy

Designated first aid measure by OSHA to help decrease muscle spasm and pain following back injuries.

Hanoun Testing

Employs both strength and dexterity testing to allow the Company Care's certified evaluator the means to assess a wide range of abilities on a job and impairment-specific basis. With its protocols, unique tools and fatigue analysis software, the ability of the patient to perform sustained work is quantified on a more exact basis. Hanoun testing has the ability to determine the validity of effort and provide the reproducible evidence necessary to support the evaluator's opinion.

Maintain muscle tone and conditioning to facilitate the return-to-work process.

Back Schools

Developed to assist companies in reducing health care costs by preventing back injuries. This two-hour program provides education in the anatomy and functions of the back, the care and protection of the back, and the enhancement of job safety with use of proper body mechanics. Direct instruction is provided by the rehabilitation specialist through a didactic presentation and demonstration of posture, body mechanics and lifting techniques and a practice session for recommended exercises for back health.

Physical Capacity Evaluation

An intensive and systematic evaluation of an individual's physical ability to sustain work performance based on their present medical, physical and psychological state and without consideration to the evaluated person's physical potential.

Functional Musculoskeletal Evaluation

An evaluation that combines the elements of musculoskeletal evaluation and a one repetition maximum physical capacity evaluation in order to determine the patient's physical capacity rehabilitation potential.

Work Capacity Evaluation

A process of measuring an individual's capacity to dependably sustain performance in response to broadly defined work demands.

Work Hardening

A systematic program of gradually progressive, work related activities performed with perfect body mechanics that recondition the persons = musculoskeletal, cardio respiratory and psychomotor systems to prepare that person for return to work.

Work Conditioning

A condition programming of two to four weeks designed for those employees who are not feasible for immediate return to work but who would benefit from a structured, conditioning program.

General Conditioning Program

Designed for those employees evaluated by the rehabilitation specialist as not in condition for a work hardening program. This program is designed to increase general physical endurance and musculoskeletal conditioning.
