Educational Programs Offered by Company Care for Business and Industry
OSHA Compliance
A two-hour program looking at the role of OSHA and how it affects business. An overview of OSHA standards is an integral part of the program.
OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens
A one-hour course that covers OSHA's standards regarding Bloodborne Pathogens, epidemiology, symptoms of BBP Diseases, modes of transmission and universal precautions. An overview of the components of a Control Plan will be presented. This program can be offered in the workÂsite.
Fundamentals of Loss Control
A two-hour program focusing on policies, procedures, developing a relationship with insurance companies, and other proactive interventions business can do to protect itself against losses. Can be provided at the work-site or at a central location.
CPR, Special Courses for Companies
Requiring a minimum of six, but not more than ten people, this course can be provided at the work-site for certification.
Flexibility Training
A trainer is provided that is proactive in the elimination of repetitive injuries. This program provides guidelines and demonstrations to supervisors regarding a ten minute exercise and stretching program to be implemented in the work place prior to the start of the work day, before lunch and at the end of the work shift. The program includes work site evaluation, development of program and supervisor training.
Alcohol and Controlled Substance Abuse Training
A one-hour training for employees performing safety sensitive functions covered under the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Training will include education on testing requirements of the new DOT regulations, the effects and consequence of alcohol and controlled substance abuse, the manifestations and behavioral causes that may indicate alcohol and/or drug use, and information on the available resources for assistance with alcohol and/or drug problem.
Maintaining a Drug Free Work Place is not only good business, it's also the law. This program will assist employers in policy and procedure development to assure your company is in compliance with the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988. Other topics the course will cover are: Employer responsibilities, mandatory drug testing, use of an employee assistance program, and new DOT regulations for transportation workers.
Back School
Developed to assist companies in reducing health care costs by preventing back injuries. This two-hour program provides education in the anatomy and functions of the back, the care and protection of the back, and the enhancement of job safety with use of proper body mechanics. Direct instruction is provided by the rehabilitation specialist through a didactic presentation and demonstration of posture, body mechanics and lifting techniques and a practice session for recommended exercises for back health.
Worksite Design
The program is geared toward upper and middle management levels. The goals of the program are to introduce basic principles and concepts of worksite design to help managers correct improper work sites in their areas of responsibility. Three components are provided, didactic presentation of theory and application of ergonomics and worksite design, discussion of poor worksite design and managerial workbooks with emphasis on VDT's and office automation.
Video Tapes
All programs listed could be video taped and provided at a standard fee to employers for continued viewing by employees and supervisors. The price would have to equal to the program on site costs for buyers who only want the video, and discounted to 50% for clients who sign on for the program. For this product, you will need a person who can film and adequately process videos.
